Update Regarding Resumption of In-Person Worship
As many of you know, yesterday our Provincial Government released a number of policy announcements that effect Cornerstone. Specifically, beginning on Friday, social gatherings of up to 10 people are now permitted. Churches are also able to begin gathering for worship with attendance limited to 30% of the building’s capacity.
This news is obviously welcomed by us, as we are now a step closer to being able to gather together to worship our Lord. At this point, the government has still not released the protocol that we will need to follow as we gather.
As we resume corporate in-person worship, we will be doing so with wisdom, carefully following the government protocol as well as the advice of health professionals in our congregation. As a result, this Sunday, June 14, will continue to be an online-only worship service. We encourage you to consider gathering together with a group of up to 10 people to worship, preferably outdoors. We urge you to continue to take the guidance from Public Health regarding physical distancing seriously.
A Task Force consisting of health professionals in our church has already begun meeting to advise us on crafting an incremental plan to resume our in-person corporate worship services safely. We will be able to share the details of this plan with you very shortly.
As we continue to worship together online for at least one more Sunday, we encourage you to keep pursuing relationship with Jesus, to continue to pray for our civic leaders and to hold up the leadership of our church as we press forward in faith.
