OVERVIEW

At Cornerstone, we are attempting to be serious about our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. We see the potential of investing heavily in our young people over an extended period of time. One avenue for this investment, is through intentional internships.

The goals of an internship are that through hands-on ministry and intentional training and investment from Cornerstone’s pastors, young people will have the opportunity to grow in the following ways:

  • Character – Fruit of the Spirit
  • Discernment of Spiritual Gifts
  • Discernment of Calling
  • Practice of Spiritual Disciplines
  • Theological Understanding and Knowledge
  • Experience in Being Discipled and Making Disciples
  • Professional Competencies (E.g. Time management, Goal Setting, Planning, etc)

The young people who participate in the internship will receive a stipend to help free them up for intentional and intensive training and leadership opportunities. The normal period for an internship will be 12 months, from September – August. Short-term internships from May-August will also be considered. Normally internships will be part-time. That means that they will be working part-time or going to school concurrently with the internship.
